Thank You!
Fri 09 Jan 2015Thank you to everyone, families and staff, who donated money to The Joe Glover Trust.
We had a Christmas Jumper day when we had our school Christmas lunch and many people brought in a donation.
Staff also decided to donate to the charity instead of sending each other Christmas cards.
In total, we raised £94.27. Well done and thank you to all involved.

Building works
Fri 12 Dec 2014We are having some quite substantial building work taking place over the next few weeks!
We are having all our old windows and doors replaced so we will be a bit warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer hopefully!
We are also having the modifications in the reception office completed, a new children's kitchen built where the current Sunshine's class cloakroom is; and a few other bits completed.
It will be very busy around school and there will be two compounds on the playground at some point.
Please bear with us and remind your children to avoid these compounds at the beginning and end of the school day.
We have been promised that the internal works will be completed before we return to school on Monday 5th January 2015 (all being well!). The window and door replacement programme should be finished by the end of January 2015. -
Whole school vision and aims
Tue 09 Dec 2014We are currently looking at updating and refreshing our whole school aims and vision. We last looked at this 2 years ago and would like some input from everyone involved with the school to make sure there is a clear and shared ‘core purpose’ for everything we do here at school.
This is our current statement:
At Haselworth Primary School we believe all our children can be successful and we aim to equip them with the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need for the world in which they live. Our school is a caring place where all children and adults are valued and respected. We believe that all members of our school should enjoy their learning, and we are committed to providing a safe, stimulating and motivating learning environment.
We encourage and value the pupils to achieve highly in their academic, creative, emotional and social, physical, moral and spiritual development so that they can make a contribution to society in adulthood.
We believe effective partnerships are central to the success of our school and promote the engagement of all parents in their children’s learning. We encourage strong links with the wider community and seek to develop the children’s understanding of their role within it.
This time, we’d like to make it a bit less wordy, and more focused.
If you have some ideas or would like to be part of a group to help develop the vision and aims of ours school, please let us know by the end of term.

Santa comes to Haselworth!

Santa's Workshop - Christmas has begun!
Thu 27 Nov 2014It was lovely to welcome lots of parents into school today for our Santa's Workshop afternoon.
The children (and adults) have made some fabulous decorations that we will use to decorate trees in school before sending them home in time to go on your own trees.We hope you enjoyed the afternoon as much as we did!

Winter Warmers!
Fri 14 Nov 2014Thank you to the 50+ children who came to our Winter Warmer story event on Thursday evening!
Children and staff really enjoyed hearing lots of interesting stories, as well as using our learning behaviour of CREATIVITY to develop craft items about the stories they heard!

Edit Sub-Page Parent Survey
Thu 30 Oct 2014Our latest newsletter was sent home on Friday 24th October. Attached was the annual parent questionnaire. Please take a few minutes to fill this in as it really helps the school to see what we do well and where we need to improve. Mrs Wilson reads every single one that is returned, and shares the findings with all staff and governors. A summary will also be shared with parents and posted here on the website.
There is a page at the back for you to add any other constructive feedback.
Please return all questionnaires either to the school office or send them in to class with your child in the first week after half term.

Osmington Bay Update
Tue 21 Oct 2014Year 6 arrived at Osmington Bay safe and sound yesterday. They had a stop off at Moors Valley Country Park on the way which they thoroughly enjoyed.
There was a large, collective gasp of breath as they caught a first glimpse of Osmington Bay and they seem very impressed so far!
All the children were fast asleep by 11.30pm.
Everyone is enjoying themselves. -
