  • Little Brigs

    Fri 23 Sep 2016

Last Wednesday, after school, 4 children from Year 6 went sailing with Mrs Millard and Max and Lucy, who are all qualified sailors. We went on board our Little Brig sailing ship and had a safety talk and put on our life jackets. We left Haslar Marina and our objective was to sail to the refuelling jetty where the Navy refuel their ships. By had a good sail to the jetty and we turned around at 5 o clock and started to head back to the marina. We had to zig zag back because the wind was blowing at the front of the ship.

We got back safely and had spent a lovely few hours sailing around Portsmouth harbour. We had all learnt the basics of sailing a ship and we all had a turn at taking the helm.

  • Roald Dahl Day

    Fri 16 Sep 2016

On Tuesday we had Roald Dahl day to celebrate his 100th Birthday. We had a great turn out of Roald Dahl themed costumes and raised £48 for Roald Dahl's Children's Charity. There were a range of learning activities throughout the day, and lots of children have been seen reading Roald Dahl's book.

Thank you to everyone who donated!

Each class performed a song or poem reflecting on happy memories of this year at Haselworth, or about change and looking forward to the future.
The performances were wonderful and the singing uplifting ~ well done to everyone who took part!"

  • Year 3 Water Sports Trip

    Wed 06 Jul 2016

Year 3 visited the Portsmouth Watersports Centre, where they had a go at archery, climbed a Jacob's ladder and climbing wall, went on the water in a kayak and tried out the giant paddleboard. As usual, the children were fantastic, with massive enthusiasm and they demonstrated the Haselworth Way throughout - especially self-belief and resilience (in this case, courage).  The Centre said we were amongst the youngest groups to come there. Adults had little to do, other than enjoy what our amazing children can do, given the chance! The only downside was the struggle to put on the wetsuits, when the children particularly showed resilience!
