Covid update- 24th February 2022

We look forward to welcoming the staff and children back after half term. We hope you have stayed safe and well during this period of turbulent weather.

On 21 February 2022 the Prime Minister set out the next phase of the Government’s COVID-19 response and guidance has been issued to schools.

At this time, we still need to be able to operationally run and to staff the school whilst considering the health and safety of the school community. Therefore, staff and children will continue to be asked to isolate if they test positive. Please report a positive case to the school as this will inform any decisions made on further control measures to mitigate against the risk of transmission.

If your child or if any staff member has symptoms of COVID-19, we would recommend booking a free PCR test at the earliest opportunity.

Isolation can be for up to 10 days from when symptoms start. However, many people will no longer be infectious to others after 5 days and if two LFD tests on day 5 and day 6 are negative, isolation can stop on the 6th day. Remote learning will be provided for any child who tests positive for COVID-19 and it is expected that children complete the work set if well enough to do so.

We will continue to risk assess and if needed put further contingency measures in place. The most up to date risk assessment can be found in the Covid Information Hub on this website.

We are currently awaiting guidance from Hampshire County Council and when we do receive any further information, which is likely to be Monday, further updates will be communicated as required.
