Chinese New Year themed week
Last week saw celebrations across the world for Chinese New Year. This was obviously during our half term break, but we are using the event as a great learning opportunity for Haselworth.
The week was kick started with a lion dance and Tai Chi performance from a visiting company called Nama. They were in school for the rest of the day leading workshops with each class. You can visit their website at www.nama.co.uk .
Children and adults took part in a range of other activities throughout the week, including food tasting and craft sessions.
Parents and carers came to our assembly on Friday at 9am to see dragons the children have made - and maybe even a dragon dance!
We had a food tasting session on Friday afternoon with a great range of Chinese dishes to try. Thank you to staff for cooking up some real treats in our new kitchen, and to Asda Gosport Superstore for providing some of the food.
Families are again invited in at the end of the school day to see a gallery in the hall of what each class has produced during the week.
We have really enjoyed our week!
