  • Love is in the air at Haselworth!

    Tue 14 Feb 2017

Children at Haselworth have been making cakes for that  someone special in their lives! The school has close links with the charity FareShare; a charity that takes surplus food, redistributes it around the country, where it is used by partner charities to help those who need it. We were fortunate enough to have most of the cake ingredients and decorations supplied by FareShare.

We made £53.50 profit, and this will be put towards improving our school grounds.

  • Land Rover Bar Trip

    Mon 06 Feb 2017

Children in Year 5 and 6 were invited to The Tech Deck at Landrover BAR HQ in Old Portsmouth. They had a behind-the-scenes experience with hands-on interactive exhibits, enabling all pupils to get close to the boats, people and technologies in development that will allow Land Rover BAR to fly faster and sail smarter. The interactive exhibits bring to life the real-world challenges that the team, its designers and engineers face in designing, building and racing in the America’s Cup.

The aim of the visit was to foster and ignite young people’s interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). Landrover BAR hope to inspire pupils to continue on to careers in these essential fields as well as learn about the team’s key focuses including sustainability and ocean health.

Yet again, the children’s behaviour was impeccable. They listened well, asked thoughtful questions and had fun using all the interactive exhibits.

  • Just keep swimming!!!

    Wed 01 Feb 2017

Bradley in year 6 and his mum will be taking part in this years Marie Curie 2017 Swimathon.

The swimathon is taking place on 8/4/17 at Fareham leisure centre.
The aim is to raise as much money as possible for Marie Curie. This is a leading charity for people with any terminal illness. Their nurses and hospices deliver round-the-clock care, vital emotional support, and expert guidance allowing people living with a terminal illness and their families to make the most of the time they have together.

Between Bradley and his mum they have to swim 5km. This is the equivalent of 200 lengths of the 25m pool!

Bradley is a really good swimmer but has only been swimming for less than a year. Despite this he has proved he is a natural.

Bradley decided he wanted to do this as his great grandad died last year at the age of 80 due to cancer.
He has been a real support to his great grandma and he would like to help other people suffering with terminal illness.

Their aim is to raise £300 but we would love to smash this target and raise as much as possible.

If you like support Bradley and his mum for this great cause and donate you can click on the link below or text to 70070 type the code BBBW 84 followed by the amount you wish to donate

Bradley will also have a sponsorship form in school soon

    Good luck Bradley and Mum!!!
