  • The News

    Fri 25 Nov 2016

We have been in the News this week and had lots of exciting visitors.  These have included our local MP, Caroline Dinenage, and our county Councillor Peter Edgar. All of our visitors commented on what a polite and hard working group of children we have, and that the staff are all dedicated and enthusiastic. We are very proud of the fact that we have come 3rd in Hampshire for progress in reading and writing, and in the top 10% nationally.  If you would like to see the article, you can look at http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/our-region/gosport/gosport-primary-head-speaks-of-pride-after-improvement-1-7689288

Thank you to all of the parents who came in to read with their children last week, we had a great turn out.

Parents are invited to join us every Friday to hear their child read from 9.00 - 9.25am.

The £1 book store will also be open if you wish to choose any books with your child. We have some new and exciting titles in stock.

Remember  -  this is not for profit, its to get our children to love reading as much as we do!

  • A polar explorer visits Kingfisher class

    Mon 07 Nov 2016
Kingfisher class had a visit from Polar explorer, Dr Dan Roiz De Sar, last week to kick start their topic on Antarctica. Dan has climbed Mount Everest and has trekked to both the North Pole and South Pole. In 2013 he helped to raise over £20million for wounded servicemen and women, when he trekked to the South Pole with Prince Harry and 12 wounded warriors from around the globe. He shared tales of his adventures with the class and even brought in a bottle of whiskey and a hat that had been taken on Shackleton's journey to the South Pole in 1916. The children listened intently, asked lots of questions and had fun trying on some of Dan's expedition clothing.
