Wednesday was full of fun and excitement. After a hearty breakfast we headed towards the giant swing, children challenged themselves and many of them were able to brave being pulled up to the highest level before releasing the pull cord. There was lots of screaming from certain children, but others just went totally silent! We all survived fencing, with some children showcasing excellent swordsmanship. In the afternoon we left the comfortable surroundings of Osmington and went to the Olympic Sailing School on Portland. (The children may have been tricked into believing they had actually been to France!) Raft building skills were taught and the children were soon afloat on some very seaworthy vessels. Robot wars is this evenings activity, which the children are looking forward to. After that it will  be showers for all, followed by hot chocolate and bed. Last night everyone was asleep by 10:30pm. Can't believe it's Thursday tomorrow. Time flies when you're having fun😀

Almost at the end of another fabulous day at Osmington. A miracle happened last night, all the children were asleep by 11:30! We struggled to wake some of them up at 7:00, in time for breakfast at 7:35 this morning. Today we all took part in aeroball, outdoor climbing, tunnelling and team sports. The first chalet inspections were carried out earlier on today, and the standard was very high; shoes lined up neatly; clothes folded on shelves; and towels hanging on towel rails, not just left on the floor. The children are a credit to Haselworth and have thrown themselves into every activity with gusto! 😀

All arrived safely at Osmington after a fantastic day at Moors Valley. The rain stopped as we got off the coach and the sun has been shining ever since. Fun was had climbing trees, jumping over streams, den building and having a go on the adventure trial. Lots of the children befriended logs, and carried them around the whole park. 

We got to Osmington at 3:30 and the children had a tour of the site and met Chloe, our PGL leader. After a huge dinner it was time for team games in one of the sports hall. Later on it will be time for bed.......wonder what time they will all got to sleep? 

 

For the last fortnight Haselworth children have been spending their play times playing conkers. Over 60 children took part, and after some tense games, and a few bruised knuckles Drew, Mason, Cai and Jessica made it through to the semi-finals. Cai and Jessica triumphed and the final was watched by the whole school on Friday morning. Cai seemed to be in the lead, until a few small cracks started to appear on his conker. Jessica played this to her advantage and started to attack with  even harder blows. Cai was eventually defeated, and in true  "Haselworth Way" style he immediately congratulated Jessica and shook her hand. It was a thrilling climax to an excellent competition enjoyed by many children. Certificates were awarded in assembly and Jessica was crowned as the reigning champion with a necklace of golden conkers!
