Ofsted Inspection Report - 23 February 2015

Haselworth Primary School Ofsted Inspection – 4th & 5th February 2015
Please find attached the Ofsted report following the inspection of the school on 4th and 5th February 2015.
We are delighted that Ofsted judged Haselworth to be a ‘good’ school. This judgement is a significant improvement from our last inspections, particularly as the new Ofsted framework makes achieving this judgement even more challenging. It reflects the positive impact of all of the work of the staff and Governors on improving our school, and the positive way the pupils have responded to new ways of learning.
In the report, teachers and support staff are credited for their hard work as demonstrated in the ‘good with some examples of outstanding’ teaching which is seen as having a significant impact on the improved progress the children are making. Inspectors recognised ‘Very strong leadership and management from the headteacher’ and that the governing body is ‘very well led’ and ‘shares the ambitions of senior leaders for the school to further improve’. We are immensely proud that ‘behaviour observed in class, around the school and on playground was often exemplary’ and that ‘relationship are excellent at all levels and pupils show respect to each other and adults’.
The report acknowledges the school’s ‘stringent procedures to encourage good attendance’ as well as ‘the well-run breakfast club’ which ‘provides a calm and happy start to the school day’.
Thank you to all of you who completed questionnaires which provided valuable feedback as part of the inspection. It is reassuring to read that ‘The very large majority of parents who responded to Parent View, the school’s own survey of parents’ views, and those spoken to, agree that behaviour is good.
We are very proud of Ofsted’s recognition of the school’s improvement. We will continue to build on the successes and strive towards our ultimate aim of providing an outstanding school for the children and families of Haselworth. If you would like to discuss any aspect of the report with us, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours sincerely,
Aimie Williams                           Claire Wilson
